Steve Dobson started out at Sounds Interchange recording studios in Toronto under the watchful eye of world renowned Canadian audio guru Les Bateman.
After Sounds Interchange Steve started his own company called Fibrelogics.
I worked for about a year for Steve and learned how to wire up audio and video equipment to 96 point Bantam jack patchbays. Patch-bay work involves the reading of schematics, soldering, dexterity, patience, and high tolerance for toxic solder fumes.
I remember one person trying to warn me about Steve Dobson saying he was a "hoser".
I took this to mean he was funny like Bob and Doug McKenzie.
Later I came to understand what that meant. I had to take him to small claims court for nonpayment of my wages. That was the end of my dealings with Steve Dobson, but overall it was a good experience.
